India has the 2nd largest population in the whole world, at 1,173,108,018 people. India has had its Independence for more than 50 years, but a large scale of poverty remains on the face of India. India has the largest amount of poor people in any country. Over 350 million people are below the poverty line and 75% of them live in rural areas. The country of India has an uneven distribution of wealth and is not able to feed and supply healthy water for a large portion of the population.
The slums of Mumbai is a terrible place to live. The communities are filled with trash that is piled up behind the homes several feet high. Limited sewage is available to the people. Families are forced to use little shacks with an opening at the bottom so the waste can just lie on the ground. I was suprised to learn of the terrible conditions that the country has since Mumbai is the commercial capital of India. The largest slum in Mumbai is called Dharavi. Approximately 7 million people live in the slums of Mumbai. The slum growth rate in Mumbai is more than the general growth rate of Mumbai.
India's film industry is very large. One of the worlds largest film industry is Bollywood which is located in Maharashtra, in the corner edge of India by the Arabian Sea. It is also referred to as Hindi cinema. Bollywood was created in 1913 and by the 1930s, they were producing 200 films per annum.
India has a major problem of Human Trafficking, Child Exploitation and Forced Labor. Human trafficking is a huge issue all throughout India. Men, boys women and girls are trafficked within India. Women and girls are most vulnerable to trafficking into the sex trade. The majority of these women and young girls are poor, come from landless families, and most of them come from Dalit, which is known as “untouchables”, Adivasi, which is the low caste community. `Nobody knows the profile of traffickers ,but it is believed that it may be family members or friends, brothel owners and brokers, community leaders, women in sex-work or people in powerful positions such as police and other government employees. Police have gathered data and have found out that 50% of the traffickers are women. The purpose of this act is for forced prostitution or marriage. Child exploitation in India is another big issue.
In Northern India child exploitation is an accepted practice by their population as a necessity to alleviate poverty. Carpenters and jobs of low quality pay low wages to child laborers and make them work long hours in the worst conditions. Many of the children who work there are migrants and their family depends on their income to help them. Forced labor is most prevalent to India out of the entire world. Forced labor is just another way of saying slavery. The workers are threatened to work or else they will be punished. The food we eat every day is forced labor. In India, between 40% and 50% of forced labor victims are children. Mainly men or women who are in debt are forced to work as brick kilns, rice mills, and factory workers, often hard back-breaking work. If they cannot pay off their debt they might sell their children to whoever they are working for or whoever they owe money to. In India an estimated 15 million children are working in bonded labor is much better than forced labor.
The movie Slumdog millionaire does portray life in India accurately because it shows us how people live in the slums. The movie shows us how the waste is polluting the environment, human trafficking issues and it references Bollywood and the most famous actor in India named Shah Rukh Khan. I have checked, and finished proofreading my work.

Personal Migration Paper
Part 1:
The two places I would move to:
v California
v Florida
Why I would want to move to these two states:
California:
v California has a wonderful climate.
v There are great business opportunities there such as; construction, Hollywood, Entertainment, etc.
v A popular entertainment facility known as Hollywood. I am a very talented person and I can act also. Therefor California is a great place for me to start an acting career.
v California is a place where you can have fun with friends or just by yourself.
v It has a wonderful capital which is Sacramento.
v California has been around for a while. It was founded in 1542.
v Their largest city is Los Angeles. The L.A Lakers are from Los Angeles and I enjoy watching them play because of their coaching style and best player, Kobe Bryant.
Florida:
v Florida also has a wonderful climate as well.
v It is a place where you can have fun with friends, family, or just yourself because of its wonderful entertainment location such as, Disney World.
v Great business opportunities.
v It is also a place with a great basketball team and I wouldn’t mind playing in Orlando because of its great basketball facilities.
v A well-known state that was founded in 1513 by Ponce de Leon.
v Tallahassee is the capital of Florida.
v They have a wonderful motto. “ In God we trust”
v Their largest city is Jacksonville, which is known for their great football team, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
v The cost of living is cheap.
Why I chose these locations:
I chose these locations because Florida and California are two popular states in America. I like both states because of the warm climates, great business opportunities, and it is a place where I know I can have fun and enjoy life.
What would be the downside for moving to these states?
California:
The downside for moving to California would be earthquakes and seasonal disasters. California is a state known for their terrible earthquakes and they can be very dangerous at times. It may affect my personal life and business opportunities too. The weather might affect many people because it may get very hot during the day. California is a very large city and traffic might get really hectic at times and may not work for you. Some people might struggle with the pressure of looking good and being surrounded by celebrities in California. Criminal gang activity has a major effect on the state of California. California is also suffering from high taxes.
Florida:
If I move to Florida the downside would be hurricanes. Hurricanes can be very life-threating and may affect activities that I am involved in. Another downside is travel. In the state of Florida, you must have a car because facilities are spread out to far to catch the bus without waiting an hour. Major universities and attractions of certain cities in Florida, are lacking transportation from one place to the next.
What would be the advantages by moving to these states?
The advantages I would have by moving to one of these two states is great weather, job opportunities, a place for fun, and a place where you could raise kids because of the exciting facilities. The living in these two states is very cheap, and the people are very friendly.
Part 2:

Class Discusion
Today, my class took a test on the three main religions of the world and the atteack on 9-11. I think that I was prepared for this test and I believe that I did very well on it. The threee main religions we were tested on were Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. During the test we got to use or notes to find answers on those three exciting religions. The 9-11 part of the section was fairly easy because of our previous discussions and reportson 9-11.

9-11 Essay
Kamau Stokes
New York Falls
On the morning of September 11, 2001, terrorist attempted to kill and destroy
people and buildings in New York City and Washington D.C with three air
planes by crashing on purpose.
Coming to you live from ABC2 News, hello everybody and good
morning, well I shouldn’t say good morning because what I am seeing with
my own eyes ladies and gentlemen looks like a plane just hit the World Trade
Center in New York City. A large aircraft just hit the one of the twin towers.
Oh my lord, ladies and gentlemen, this is not a very good site. It looks like the
plane is in the Twin Tower and there are fires and explosions occurring. As
the helicopter shows, you can see two holes in the wall of the Twin Tower.
Some families are losing loved ones rite now people. This is just outrageous. I
am speechless rite now, I just don’t know what to say. We just heard that a
women saw a jet fly into the building. We are not sure whether this was an
accident or an attack. We are in the roam of speculation on happened to the
world trade center. (The time is 9:02 and the plane hit about 20 minutes ago).
Oh my lord ladies and gentlemen, another plane has just hit the other side of
the World Trade Center. Now it is believed that the city of New York is under
attack. This is a horror, many people work in this wonderful building and
some may have died from this attack on 9-11-2009. This will probably be
listed as one of the most vicious attack of America. I just can’t believe what I
am seeing here today.
We are receiving phone calls from some people that are actually on two
other planes. They say that one plane plans to hit the Pentagon and the other
plans to hit Washington D.C. If I was on that plane, to be honest, I would be
terrified. WOW, the other plane has just hit the pentagon; the plane literally
just went right through the pentagon. There is a lot of fire on the top levels of
the World Trade Center. I don’t know how long this will go on folks, but these
terrorist are causing a lot of damage in the New York City and the World
Trade Center.
(Live from ABC2 News in New york City I am Kamau Stokes here with my
co-worker Kelly Edmonds, we are taking a sort break and we’ll be right
back.)
We are back with one of the worst terrorist attacks in America. As you
can see Kelly, these people are really trying to destroy these wonderful
buildings in New York. I am not sure why they choose to hit new York first.
As for the other plane, if that plane reaches and hits our capital our country
will face a major challenge. Some of those challenges are; repairs, deciding to
go to war, and rebuilding our nation’s capital.
(WARNING: STAY INSIDE)
Kelly, one of the towers is falling down. The building just collapsed in a
blink of an eye. This is a terrible mess; there are explosions, glass breaking,
and screaming all around the city of New York. WOW, the second building
has just fell down and there is just terrifying screaming sounds coming from
every direction. The city is in panic right now because this terrifying attack in
New York City. I have just received information that is very heroic and sad.
The aircraft that was planning to hit our capital was taken over by passenger
who decided to make a plan to get the terrorist out of the cockpit and control
the plan. But their attempt was not successful and the plane crashed in a field,
killing all of the brave passengers on board. (TRAGIC). Ladies and
gentlemen, this has been a tragic event, many police and firefighters are
searching for any survivors that were in the plane crash or people who may be
trapped under the World Trade Center.
Live from ABC2 News, I’m Kamau and I’m Kelly, here with a terrible site of
the 9-11 attack in New York City.
During the 9-11-2001 attack, 3000 people were killed and many were
wounded. Saturday was the anniversary of 9-11 and many families gathered
together to honor their loved ones who died during 9-11-2001. They may be
gone, but they are definitely not forgotten. This historic event changed many
people’s lives, some have lost family members and some just struggle to find a
new place to work since the World Trade Center fell and many people worked
there.

I believe that the coments made in the video about how the technology is improving ad how our population is growing, ment that each day the world is improving in many different ways. Technology is one of thekey components to how the world is improving. Everyda people invent new ways to communicate. For example, now many people communicate by internet which is a big factor in technology, almost every person in the world has a cell phone ofcourse. Cell phones were invented in 1973 by Dr. Martin Cooper. But when the video talked about how many kids were born a day over the country in the U.S, I that it was good for our population but not good for many young teens who r producing babies. MAny of those teens are not very succesful in life today because in order for them to raise their child they one day have to drop out of school. Therefor they fail to be educated...
